A legend has been reborn – the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX

I also wanted to give thanks and praise to God for finding out yesterday Angela Lin (Xanga: sarkie12) and her long-time boyfriend, Steven, are now engaged!  Steven used “If You Could See What I See” by Geoff Moore & The Distance (song written by Geoff Moore and Steven Curtis Chapman on the album Ev-O-Lu-Tion) to propose to Angie.  The man has definitely got good taste!!!

Birthday Greetings for today, April 6, 2007, go out to Ted Low (Xanga: Strikezone), Karen Jeng, and Jason Lau!

Most importantly, today is Good Friday.  It was “bad” for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, but “good” for all of His followers.

Philippians 2:1-18 (New American Standard Bible)

Be Like Christ

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

Once again I look upon the cross where You died
I’m humbled by Your mercy and I’m broken inside
Once again I thank You
Once again I pour out my life

Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross, my Friend
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross, my LORD

You’re listening to “The Wonderful Cross” off Chris Tomlin’s The Noise We Make album.  If you can’t hear it playing, you can listen to the song here.

The Wonderful Cross
Words by Isaac Watts (who originally wrote “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”), Chris Tomlin

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head, His hands, His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

ryc: Unfortunately, Kaiser made this contract with UCLA. UCLA is nice, but the traffic is just awful during the rush hours. Took almost half an hour just to get to the freeway.
