Thank You, Lord, for being an awesome and sovereign God!  Not to us, but to Your name be the glory!!!  I need everyone out there to CRANK UP THE VOLUME!!!  More to come later…

Okay, I can’t wait so I’ll try to put a condensed version here.

1. I applied for a job back in Summer of 2004 with Nissan North America down in Gardena.  I went two rounds and didn’t get it.  Some of you may remember me asking you to pray not for me to get it, but for God’s will to be done.  I was disappointed I didn’t get the job because I thought I was a shoe-in for the job.  Well, it was announced about three weeks ago that Nissan North America is relocating its national headquarters to Tennessee.

2. For those of you who read Nick Lui’s Xanga (sup_cuz), he recently ran into someone he met at a track day he went to with me at The Streets of Willow Springs on September 23rd.  On the 10 West driving home last night from Bible Study Fellowship, a person I met at that track day pulled up alongside me and waved.  His name is Jeff and he drives a red late 80’s Honda CRX.  He’s also a technician at Longo Toyota in El Monte.  I’m pretty sure he recognized me because of my license plate!  So praise God for something as simple as that being used by Him as I had intended it to be a little light in this world.

3. I’ve been going to Bible Study Fellowship in Arcadia on Tuesday nights for the last weeks after having been invited by Nathan and Aaron Lee.  To be honest, some things there are still weird for me (teaching styles, people sharing their own personal interpretations of Scripture which has the potential to be off-base, and so on and so forth).  Overall, it’s been a really great experience except for the homework (ugh!).  What is also amazing is how this is not a small world, but God’s world.  Three of the people there who are regular attendees are people I had previously known to some extent or met.

The first is Danny Leung, driver of a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan (World Rally Blue Pearl in color of course).  I started e-mailing Danny and talking to him over AIM before I even got Devoted Dan, the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan I drive, asking for advice and information about the ReX.  Even though, he’s a Bruin, he’s a pretty cool and funny guy.  In Januay 2004 shortly after I had got the car, I met him at the Fry’s off Crossroads Parkway on a Sunday afternoon after church.  I let him drive my car and also had him ride with me to give me some tips.

The second is Brian Tung.  Brian, also a Bruin, was the core coordinator of UCLA’s Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) for the 2003-2004 school year.  He attends Mandarin Baptist Church “Los Angeles”.  I had a cool talk about five-point Calvinism with him last night.  He’s also a five-pointer thanks to being around some people at chuch like Victor Hwang (USC’s AACF core coordinator for the 2001-2002 school year).  Since he was a fellow core coordinator, it’s nice to be able to talk to him since he’s “been there, done that.”

The third is Paul (I think Goh is his last name).  He went to USC and knows some of the older AACFers that were around like Khai Taing (Xanga: khai123), who was the USC AACF core coordinator for the 2000-2001 school year.

4. I went to a wedding on Saturday and ran into two former USC AACFers (Hubert Chan, worship leader for the 1999-2000 school year and serving at Epicentre church now) and Carolyn Quach.  I wasn’t expecting to know anyone there, but thanks to God for arranging things the way He did!

Again, it’s not a small world after all, it’s God’s world!!!

So join Reggie (AFAIK, Reggie’s stepdad is a pastor.  I don’t know if he’s a committed believer, but I know he definitely believes his ability is God-given.) and me and let’s give our God the glory!

Thanks to JT², a.k.a. Jeff Ton, USC’s AACF core coordinator for the 2003-2004 school year (Xanga: jton23), for the awesome picture link!

After talking to Brian, ya’ll could also be praying for the general state of AACF!  It needs prayer, folks!!!

Not to Us
by Chris Tomlin

The cross before me the world behind
No turning back
Raise the banner high
It’s not for me
It’s all for You

Let the heavens shake and split the sky
Let the people clap their hands and cry
It’s not for us
It’s all for You

CHORUS:
Not to us
But to Your name be the glory
Not to us
But to Your name be the glory

Our hearts unfold before Your throne
The only place for those who know
It’s not for us
It’s all for You

Send Your holy fire on this offering
Let our worship burn for the world to see
It’s not for us
It’s all for You
For You

CHORUS

The earth is shaking
The mountains shouting
It’s all for You
The waves are crashing
The sun is raging
It’s all for You

The universe is spinning and singing
It’s all for You
Your children dancing
Dancing
Dancing
It’s all for You
It’s all for You

CHORUS

All glory and honor and praise
All glory and honor and praise
All glory and honor and praise
All glory and honor and praise

FIGHT ON and BEAT THE BRUINS!!!   Victory signs up!

Hey, I forgot, you’re out in the area…  I’m going to this class called “Perspectives” (A biblical perspective on world missions) and I really think you should go-it’s very refreshing, challenging, and beneficial…not for the faint hearted that’s for sure.  It’s on Tues. nights @ 6:30 if you can.  (it’s a full on class, but guests are free).  It’s at Evergreen LA (San Gabriel/Rosemead).  Let me know if you’re interested, k?
