Bah!  Lost my entry due to a Micro$oft Internet Explorer crash while trying to access the Subaru World Rally Team web site (

Cliff Notes post (hopefully)

  1. Thanks to God and Victor Hwang ( for a “Geoff Moore moment” on Thursday night at the annual USC Asian American Christian Fellowship alumni meeting
  2. Thanks to Uncle Joe, Christi (Xanga: crazy_chrusti), and David Wong (Xanga: eww_itx_david) for taking me to yesterday’s USC whooping of the Washington State Cougars 55-13 (remember UCLA needed OT to beat Wazzu 44-41).  UCLA’s holy (as in having many holes!) defense was exposed yet again as they squeaked by the Stanford Cardinal 31-27 in OT.  We won’t need OT to get the job done against the same Stanford team this Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at 7:00 PM (on the TBS Superstation – oh “joy” for all Trojan fans).  I’ll be at the Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman concert at that time though.  No worries, Trojan faithful!  Business as usual.
  3. In our church’s Fairway service, God through Pastor Ted (Xanga: deadkau) spoke about His authority over all.  We humans settle all-too-often settle for second best or even things that are harmful for us instead of what gives God the most glory, honor, and praise and is ultimately-best for us (cue “See the Glory” off Steven Curtis Chapman’s Declaration album).

Has anyone seen the ESPN U commercial where the boy in the Trojan costume is trick-or-treating and is turned away by the middle-aged man in the UCLA sweatshirt?  It’s ROFL funny!!!

“Coach Snoop” knows who the best football team in Los Angeles is!  Well technically, only one college football team plays its home games in the City of Los Angeles!

Did anyone see LenDale White give “Coach Snoop” the ball after his 2nd quarter TD run?  They showed it on ESPN’s SportsCenter and ESPNEWS!  LOL!

In Christ Alone
Sung by Geoff Moore and Adrienne Liesching

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again (YEAH!!!!!!!)
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
